Shinies, tickets and the regional gacha
Shinies appear at 1 in 4096 in the wild and 1 in 100 in the gacha. Tickets are only earned by playing, rifts are the fastest route, and coins buy the permanent upgrades that make a starter viable late.
Two shiny rates, two different games
There are two ways to get a shiny and they are not the same activity. In the wild it is 1 in 4096, and a wild shiny has to be defeated to become yours. In the gacha it is 1 in 100, pulled with tickets. That is a forty-fold difference, and it changes what each method is for.
| Wild shiny | Gacha shiny | |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | 1 in 4096 | 1 in 100 |
| Requirement | Defeat it to own it | Pulled with tickets |
| Duplicate | n/a | Pays 3× Pokémonet |
| Effort | Enormous | Deterministic, bounded by tickets |
Wild shinies are a reason to keep playing, not a plan. At 1 in 4096, treat a wild shiny as a story that happens to you. Plan around the gacha.
Tickets: where they come from
Tickets cannot be bought. They drop from regular Pokémon occasionally, from bosses sometimes, and from a rift legendary every single time — ten at a time. That makes the rift the only route you can actually plan around, which is why the rift guide and this one are the same conversation.
- Regular enemies: occasional drops. Free income that you should not think about.
- Bosses: sometimes. Worth taking a boss fight you were already going to take.
- Rift legendaries: always ×10. This is the rate that sets your plan.
Coins buy the thing that outlasts everything
Coins are spent on permanent per-Pokémon upgrades that survive every run. They are the grind of the game and the reason a starter stays relevant into the late game. Coin Amulet exists for players who want that grind to go faster.
A healthy loop looks like this: play for coins on the partner you enjoy, take one or two rifts when your build is strong enough to win them, spend the resulting tickets on the gacha, and repeat. Fighting the content you are not ready for breaks both halves of that loop at once.
The gacha is split by region
The slot machine is divided into regional banners — one per region, nine in total — and the Pokédex follows the same division. That is not decoration: it means you always know roughly which slice of the collection you are pulling toward, and you can choose to finish one region before starting another.
Because duplicates pay coins rather than nothing, a banner you have already pulled from heavily turns into a coin farm. Chasing the last few legendaries in a banner you already own most of is the most expensive kind of collection play.
Making shinies part of a run
You do not hunt wild shinies, but you can stop ignoring them. A wild shiny does not need to be chased down; it needs to not be walked past. If one shows up in your circle-strafe loop, detouring costs you a few seconds and can cost you a run.
- Keep shiny forms playable from your collection — once you own one, it is a usable partner, not a trophy.
- Duplicate shinies pay 3× coins, which makes an unlucky pull less painful than it looks.
- Track which regional banner you are on. Finishing one region is a concrete goal; chasing 87 legendaries at once is not.
What the game does not do
There is no way to buy coins, tickets or shinies, no in-app purchase and no crypto or token tied to the game. Voluntary donations cover servers and the domain and give no gameplay advantage. If a site offering this game claims otherwise, it is wrong.
