Game introduction
What Azeroth Survivors is, what it does, and what is actually going on while you play.
Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made World of Warcraft roguelike by Aethus, built on a from-scratch WoW 1.12.1 client engine written in Rust with Bevy and compiled to WebAssembly. You pick a race, a gender and a class, then pick one of sixteen zones — from the starting zones up to Naxxramas and the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj — and fight the creatures and bosses that really spawn there.
It plays like every other survivor on this page: WASD to move, your abilities cast themselves, enemies swarm in waves, and every level-up hands you three spell cards coloured by WoW item quality, each listing exactly what it changes — “Damage 20 » 26”, “Targets 2 » 3”. A class movement spell unlocks on F from level 5 (Blink, Charge, Sprint, Dash, Fade, Ghost Wolf, Aspect of the Cheetah, Blessing of Freedom, Howl of Terror), C frees the camera to swing and tilt, and the wheel zooms from over the shoulder out to 70 yards.
There is no server, no login and no account — the game is fully offline and self-contained. It needs WebGPU: a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. If the browser reports no usable graphics card, the game says so and offers the Windows build instead.
Free to play, no account needed. Every game on this page loads inside the frame above. Press play, wait for the build to load, and the game runs on this page — on a desktop, a tablet or a phone. Nothing is installed and nothing is downloaded to your device.
Still on your phone? The game keeps playing in the frame in portrait too — the games show their own rotate prompt when they need more width. Turn the device sideways, or tap the fullscreen button in the toolbar, for the full map.
More games, same frame. The row below links to the other survivor games this site carries. Each one has its own page with the introduction, the controls and the original screenshots.
How to play Azeroth Survivors
Six steps that cover a first run — and the controls, so nothing in the game is a mystery.
Pick race, gender and class
The pick screen is built from the client's own glue art: eight races, both genders, and every class the race can be — Alliance or Horde on the left, your hero in the middle.
Choose one of sixteen zones
Each zone fights with its own creatures and bosses, taken from the zone's real spawns — Durotar and Redridge Mountains early, Naxxramas and the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj late. Your pick is remembered across reloads.
Survive the waves
WASD to move, your abilities cast themselves, enemies swarm in waves and a boss shows up every couple of minutes.
Read the three cards on level up
The cards tilt toward the cursor and lift on hover. Their WoW item-quality colour tells you how strong a pick is, and each card spells out exactly what changes.
Unlock the movement spell on F
From level 5 your class gets a movement spell aimed at the cursor — Blink, Charge, Sprint, Dash, Fade, Ghost Wolf, Aspect of the Cheetah, Blessing of Freedom or Howl of Terror.
Free the camera with C
The camera is locked top-down by default with the hero facing the cursor. C unlocks it to swing and tilt, and the wheel zooms from over the shoulder out to 70 yards. G toggles the colour pass.
